A Sketch-Inspired Twofer

Hi, everybody! Hope it's been a great weekend.

As Darnell would say, I have a twofer for you tonight. Both were inspired by the current My Favorite Things sketch.

My first card was also inspired by the current Shopping Our Stash Transportation Challenge. And, since this card has a CAS design and a thank you sentiment, I'm going to share it over at the current CAS-ual Fridays Gratitude with Attitude Challenge.

So, without further ado, here's card #1.

Stampin' Up! crumb cake and  chocolate chip cardstock; SU vellum
MFT up in the air images, coordinating dies, and sentiment
SU banner punch; Lawn Fawn mini snowflake dies
MFT images stamped in Distress Ink walnut stain and colored with Prismacolor pencils
vellum and banner inked with DI Oxides (broken china and peacock feathers)
embossing with Versamark and SU copper powder
adhesives: Scotch ATG; foam backing; Zig 2-way glue pen
This little card is probably going to Nationwide Children's... to be given to (or from) an older patient. So, I tried to go with a palette that is gender neutral, maybe even skewing to a masculine aesthetic.

I loved this sketch so much that I also decided to use it for an upcoming relative's birthday card. Since I haven't used MFT products here, I won't be sharing it over at MFT.

But, since a Paper Smooches die was used to create the focal point, I'll share it over at the PS Monthly Challenge.

Crate Paper farmhouse dp; SU tranquil tide and cherry cobbler cardstock
Paper Smooches botanicals 2 stamp and dies
Simon Says you matter sentiment, embossed with Versamark and Recollections gold powder
SU linen thread; SU banner punch; SU stitched square dies
adhesives: Scotch ATG; foam backing; Ranger multi medium matte

So, this card will be going to a relative who has an early December birthday... but doesn't want Christmas-y birthday gifts or cards. So, I went with an autumn palette and am hoping she likes this one.

Parting Thoughts

Penny is our hostest with the mostest this month over at Words 2 Craft By. There's still time to play along... and Penny's offering up a prize for this challenge's winner. Hope you'll find a little time to play along.
Have a great week! Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!   :)
