NBUS Challenge #12: Santa Paws?!

Hi, everyone. Feels like forever since I've posted. Hope you all are well. Thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all those affected by recent natural disasters. How terrible... How heartbreaking...

Today I'm sharing a a prototype of a card that teens will be making at this year's Santa Saturday library extravaganza. One of the librarians asked me if I'd be interested in hosting another card-making event for older kids and their parents. What a silly question. Right?!

My friend Mary Anne donated a small embossing machine to the library, so a request was made for the cards to include an embossing element. I also thought the kids would enjoy coloring a Santa-crazed little pup.

NBUS Recollections red and green cardstock; Neenah Soler white
Crazy Dog images, stamped in Versamark black onyx and colored with Prismacolor pencils
Memory Box and SU background stencils, inked in Distress Ink hickory smoke applied with Ranger blending tool
Paper Studio embossing folder; MFT double stitched STAX rectangle dies
I'm sharing this at:
  • Darnell's current NBUS challenge. The NBUS items are new packs of red and green cardstock... which was purchased at a Michael's post-Christmas sale... in hope of using it with the kids on Santa Saturday.
  • the current Jingle Belles Emboss Around the Christmas Tree challenge. Life's recently gotten in the way of playing at JB -- and this is by no means fancy. But, it has an embossing element, nonetheless!
To see a gussied up version of this card, designed for a child at Nationwide Children's, check out this month's Sparkles Christmas post.  :)

Parting Thoughts

Our W2CB Logic vs Imagination Challenge is open through Wednesday. And, there's a $10 gift certificate up for grabs. Stop by if you have a chance.  :)

Think that's it for today.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!

  4. You've made great choices for this kit to be made by the tweens and teens and their parents, Sybrina! This krazy dog in his Santa hat will be a big hit with the stenciling, stitching, and embossing! You're so good to help out in this way! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #12! Hugs, Darnell
